Interview #1: Mr. Lew and Marge Agnew

Lew and Marge Agnew were such a lovely couple, and it was a pleasure to interview them. Marge was a music teacher in Los Alamos in the 50’s when she arrived…all she had was praise and good words for the school system there at the time. She said it was one of the best (if not THE best) school she’d ever seen. Lew, her husband, arrived earlier than Marge did. He was one of the technicians at the lab, and was a huge player in the development of the particle accelerator. Marge and Lew gave us stories of what the town was like, what kind of options for entertainment that were available at the time, they shared with us the story of how they met, parties for singles, etc etc…lots of great, amazing, and homey details. This interview was not really science, technology, lab work heavy…as much as it was a video of what general life was like in Los Alamos at the time, which is absolutely fine and dandy. Check out the interview clip below for some story snippets from this lovely couple.

Also working on Project

Hi my name is Christopher Killion and I will be working on the oral-history project for Los Alamos History Museum with Jacob Erickson.  I am a student at New Mexico Highland University entering my last semester.  I have never done a oral-history project but it will be a great experience.  Me and Jake have already conducted three oral-histories and we will work on trying to get clips posted on here soon.
